A researcher with the University Of Zimbabwe College Of Health Sciences Clinical Unit Dr Nyaradzo Mgodi says new HIV infections in Zimbabwe are currently at 250 per week.

Speaking during the launch of a media science cafe in Harare recently, Dr Mgodi said most of these infections are happening in young women.

Dr Mgodi also added that the global objective of reducing new HIV infections by 2020 to 500 000 cases seems unrealistic as the current figures of new infections are at 1.8 million.
