ZESA loses over 1 million to theft and vandalism

Energy And Power Development Minister Simon Khaya Moyo has bemoaned the rampant theft and vandalism of Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) equipment, which he says has prejudiced the country of at least 1 million dollars since 2017.

Addressing delegates at the 2017 ZESA Risk Management Awards Ceremony held in Harare recently, Minister Khaya Moyo called on companies to prioritise and adopt good risk management practices to ensure that infrastructure is maintained in good working condition.

The ZESA Risk Management Awards ceremony was also attended by the Energy and Power Development permanent secretary Dr Partson Mbiriri, the chief executive officer of Cell Insurance Company, Mr Ishmael Makuzwa, the  National Social And Security Authority (NSSA) chief occupational health, safety and rehabilitation centre officer Dr. Betty Nyereyegona and other various ZESA Executives.
