Today (Tuesday) Zimbabwe joins the rest of the world in commemorating Universal Children's Day, which aims to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children’s welfare.

Speaking to Capitalk FM news, national director at Zimbabwe National Council for the Welfare of Children Reverend Taylor Nyanhete urged government to ensure all children are in school.

United Nations General Assembly adopted the declaration of the rights of the child in 1989 when the UN General Assembly adopted the convention on the rights of the child on the 20th of November 1959.
