A 12 year old boy from Burma Valley in Manicaland Province was killed by a crocodile while attempting to cross a river early this month.

The body of the deceased boy, Concern Mukwavaya who was a grade seven pupil, was found floating in the river a few days later, with some missing body parts.

The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Authority (Zimparks) public relations manager Mr Tinashe Farawo confirmed the incident and cautioned members of the public to desist from attempting to cross flooded water bodies.

Mr Farawo appealed to members of the public to take heed of Zimparks rangers who go around communities educating them about the dangers of crossing water bodies during the rainy season.
