A total of 325 exhibitors and 23 participating countries have been registered for this year’s edition of the Sanganayi Hlanganani Tourism Expo 2018 - which kicks off tomorrow at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Exhibition Centre in Bulawayo.

Addressing journalists at a hotel in Bulawayo this morning - Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) chief executive officer Dr Karikoga Kaseke said 150 buyers were already in the country for the Tourism Expo and are currently touring the Victoria Falls.

Dr  Kaseke said this year’s edition of Sanganayi is being initiated by a commemoration of the life of the late icon Dr Joshua Nkomo through tourism heritage trails – which started by a peaceful march to honour his life.

Speaking at the same occasion, a representative from the Joshua Nkomo Foundation Mr Milili Tapela said they are working with the University Of Zimbabwe to push the Nkomoism Ideology - as a way of preserving the icon’s ideals.

Mr Tapela said the move would assist future generations to cherish unity and seek homegrown solutions to domestic challenges.

Other main events expected to take place at the Sanganayi Hlanganani Tourism Expo include an awards ceremony, the African Tourism Ministers’ Round Table, the Chef’s Cookout and the Women In Tourism Conference.
