President Emmerson Mnangagwa says the recently introduced 2% tax has helped in reducing the country’s deficit gap and it does not hinder business.

Speaking during a question and answer session at the 3rd Annual Public Sector Audit conference yesterday, President Mnangagwa said although a number of people were not consulted over the tax, the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning has made an effort in explaining the levy.

President Mnangagwa also said anyone with a case against the introduction of the 2% tax is free to present their argument.
